Does adopting AI build genuine organizational capability in emerging-economy firms, or does it create a new form of dependency on tools designed elsewhere?

That is the question behind the doctoral work I am pursuing. It draws on dynamic capabilities theory and organizational learning theory, and reads both against a critical view of how technology transfers into institutional contexts it was not built for. Ten years spent building curricula, learning systems, and now evaluating AI-generated instructional content have shaped this question directly, rather than being reframed to justify it after the fact.

Target departments: Management, Information Systems, and Educational Technology — not general AI-labeled positions.
